Honoring the Past, Shaping the Present, Building the Future
The Mesa Grande Business Development Corporation was created by the Mesa Grande General Council in 2017 to assume primary responsibility for the development and management of the Band's business enterprises. In 2019, the BDC established Tekamuk Facility Services, a property management company that serves the Band's building and grounds maintenance needs, leases tribal land and buildings for short or long-term use, and offers a menu of property management services to businesses in the surrounding area. The BDC is authorized to create other tribal enterprises as deemed beneficial to the interests of the people of Mesa Grande.
The mission of the Mesa Grande Business Development Corporation (BDC) is to promote the economic self-sufficiency of the Mesa Grande Band of Mission Indians by building and managing a diverse portfolio of profitable, sustainable enterprises for the benefit of tribal members and the community. This mission informs our future vision of Mesa Grande as a culturally and economically strong community of self-governing, resilient people united by shared values, customs and traditions. The values that drive our work include integrity, transparency, accountability, responsible stewardship, respect, trust and innovation.
Welcoming New Opportunities
The BDC welcomes opportunities for collaboration, partnerships, strategic alliances and other working relationships that offer mutual benefit, not only in the generation of revenues to meet tribal needs and support Mesa Grande and its enrolled citizens, but also to benefit the greater good of our friends and neighbors in northeastern San Diego County.
Due to the volume of development ideas and project proposals the BDC routinely receives, the Board has developed an outline of information that must accompany any proposal submitted for board consideration. Proposals submitted without the required information will not receive consideration. The outline is available for download here.
